WOW!!! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! What An Amazing Space For our Veterans.

Thanks to the efforts of our amazing team of volunteers and dedicated committee members, the generous donations from the Coo-Wee Ride charity and support from our local Federal Member for Indi, Dr Helen Haines, we now have another unit to add to our crisis accommodation program.

What started as a vision of our founders, Phil & Jo Thomson, back in 2019, the accommodation project continues to move from strength to strength.

A group of Veterans, from as far as Ocean Grove in the south to Wodonga in the north, got together on a weekend back in May 2021 to kick the project off, and in two days they had assembled our flat-pack cabin to lock-up stage.

From there it was a slow haul as we applied for grants and fundraised to continue with the build. In COVID times it was hard yakka, and 12 months on we are so pleased with the result.

Our volunteer plumber, Rob Grant, a Veteran himself, gave us his time to complete an amazing ensuite bathroom. No small task when you are located in a country area not serviced by sewerage mains and the like. Our Secretary, Jo Thomson, is pretty handy with decor and has furnished & dressed our cabin fit for the royal family....a real oasis for the Veterans we support.

Work continues on four more cabins we hope to complete this year. We thank the Ocean Grove Barwon Heads RSL who recently made a substantial donation to the project, as well as the Victoria Veterans Council who have generously awarded us a grant.

With your help, we can offer more Veterans a warm bed sooner. We'd welcome your tax-deductible donation, or perhaps you'd like to volunteer to attend one of our many Working B's during the year. Either way, our Veterans thank you from the bottom of their hearts.
