Open Arms Representatives Visit GVR
Updated: Mar 13
We most recently received a visit from members of the Open Arms - Veterans & Families Counselling office in Wodonga.
Ms Natasha Knights-Lewis the Community Engagement Coordinator and Mr Sean Skelton the Community & Peer Advisor visited our Diggers Wife café to firstly enjoy a great cup of coffee & cake, but then followed by a discussion with our Diggers Wife, Jo, regarding the catering service provided to persons using our Crisis Accommodation along with the potential for training and employment opportunities for those Veterans inclined.
This was followed by a tour of the GVR facilities and some robust discussions around Open Arms services in our region and how they might support activities here at the Retreat. There are some great programs on offer to all of our Veteran population, including the Community & Peer Program and a multitude of Workshops aimed at our overall Health & Well-being. We are keen to get a few of these scheduled at GVR in the new year, so please register your interest here.
We will update this page as soon as we have further information to share regarding these activities.
