Great Volunteer Turnout Kick-Starts Projects For 2022

Updated: Apr 7, 2022

Attendance at our March working bee was great with a group of Veterans from the Ocean Grove Barwon Heads RSL leading the push. We took the opportunity to get on with our cabin project and after a couple of days of graft we had a new deck built from recycled materials. Others took the opportunity to do some arial photography using drone technology and a few of those more mundane tasks such as window cleaning were accomplished.

On the Saturday we had some local veterans join us for a BBQ which once again reminds us that we share a special bond with our Brothers & Sisters in Arms. The camaraderie & spirit that is born from having served our nation drives us all to support our Veteran community in all that we do here at the Goorambat Veterans’ Retreat.

Meet Rob, Army Veteran turned plumber, who really worked his magic in the trenches. No small feat after Phil & an excavator found a wayward water pipe.

Two of our Committee members, Jeff and Phil, were on the tools. However, they really excelled in BBQ duties. Thanks for all your help guys!

Thanks again to all those that chipped in & if you missed out this time, please visit our website activities page to register.
